The idea of opening a brewery had been talked about for years while Mike Malinowski was home brewing beer. As he continued refining his recipes and entering competitions, turning the hobby into something bigger began to feel like the natural next step.

When a corporate takeover led to the elimination of Mike’s job, the timing suddenly felt right to finally pursue the dream.

The name Paradigm Shift comes from Mike’s previous career in continuous improvement, where his role was to encourage people to see things differently and think outside the box—to make a “paradigm shift". With the brewery, the goal is similar: to inspire people to shift their perspective and discover the world of craft beer.
